Every tent includes either 1 bed, 2 beds, or 1 queen & 4 bunks. They also include a space heater, a clothing storage, nightstands & lamps, a rug, electricity, fan, and mirror. (Tents do not have AC or fridges. Please book a cabin if these are desired). While Premium 1-Queen tents have locking doors, Standard and Premium 2-Queen tents do not. We recommend locking valuables in your vehicle.
Outside the tent you’ll have a patio table & chairs on a covered deck. Premium tents have a gas firepit year-round designed for heat, not cooking. Propane tanks must be rented (online, or during your stay) to use these firepits, and we will install. Standard tents do not have firepits between June 1 and Oct. 31 due to higher fire risk in the more shaded location.
Communal BBQs for cooking and a communal gas fire pit are a 1-2 minute walk away. Your parking space is close, but you will still need to walk 30-60 seconds. We provide wagons to easily transport your items and extra assistance with luggage and gear is available upon request.
Note: Our tents get hot during midday hours on hot summer days. Guests can cool off in our shaded communal spaces, the nearby Merced River, the park's higher elevations, or by booking a cabin with AC instead.
How does Premium compare with Standard? The short answer is: a better location (further uphill from the road, with improved views), heated mattress pads, larger decks (double the size), and year-round gas fire-pits.
See full details--including differences between Standard & Premium tents--by viewing the Tents page.
Our glamping cabins were built in a cozy but inviting tiny-home style with tall ceilings and large windows to let in lots of light. Every cabin includes 1 queen bed, a futon (for 1 adult or 2 kids) or 2 twin beds in a loft (for children), a kitchenette, bathroom and shower, a clothing rack, nightstands & lamps, a rug, electricity, a combo AC and heater, and mirror. Outside the cabin you’ll have a private patio with a picnic table, patio set, and firepit with cooking grill.
Note: Fire pit converts from wood (for cooking) to gas (not for cooking) during our high-risk fire season, June thru mid-November. Guests wishing to use the gas fire pits must rent one of our propane tanks when booking or during their stay. Communal gas BBQs for cooking are 2 minutes away.
Your parking space is behind the cabin.
Our Classic Studio cabins measure 10'x18' while the Classic and Valley View 1BR cabins measure 6' longer (10'x24') with a very small bedroom in the back.
How does Classic compare with Valley View? Other than the Studio-vs.-1BR difference above, it's the location and views. Valley Views face south, with better sunrises/sunsets, and look across 2,000 acres of rolling hills with no other buildings/people in front. Classics still have views, but are of a closer set of foothills and look out over the entrance road.

Our amenities includes hiking trails, communal spaces, amazing views, a Guest Services Team for trip planning, dog-friendly lodging, complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate, complimentary WiFi, on-site events, and several reservable group areas.

Tent guests have access to a clean, central restroom building with flush toilets and hot showers (both inside and a refreshing outdoor option). The building is a 30-60 second walk from your tent. (Cabin guests each have their own bathrooms & showers.)
TENT COOKING
While tents have gas firepits, they are for fires and roasting s'mores and cannot be used for cooking. Propane tanks must be rented (online or during stay) to use. Guests can visit our communal cooking area and cook on our full-sized, backyard-style gas BBQs or portable gas stoves brought from home. BBQing tools are provided. Please bring your own cookware and store all food in your vehicle for the best protection from wildlife.
Important Note: Standard tents do not have fire pits due to a higher fire risk in their location. Standard Tent guests can use our communal fire pit, 1-2 minutes away.
CABIN COOKING
Guests can cook in their kitchenette which includes a mini fridge, sink, 2-burner electric cooktop, and basic cooking and dining items (pots & pans, plates & dishes, silverware, etc.). Microwaves are not provided. We recommend bringing an ice chest to supplement the smaller fridge.
Note: Fire pit converts from wood (for cooking) to gas (not for cooking) during our high-risk fire season, June thru mid-November. Guests wishing to use the gas fire pits must rent one of our propane tanks when booking or during their stay.
Communal gas BBQs are available for cooking at reception if desired, 2-minute walk away. When wood-burning is allowed, cabin guests are required to use a safer, low-spark firewood called Goodwood, which can be purchased from us in our store, when booking, or by contacting us before arrival. Guests must bring their own outdoor cooking items and cannot use our indoor-only kitchen cookware.
WATER
It comes from our well, is treated, and is safe to drink from our bathhouse or inside each cabin (for cabin guests).
DINING OUT
Mariposa is just 1 mile away and offers many tasty and unique options for indoor and outdoor dining. No restaurants deliver to Wildhaven.
This is one of our most important policies at Wildhaven, as our tents and cabins are spaced 20-30 feet apart. It’s important that all guests can relax and recharge. We strictly enforce quiet hours everywhere on the property from 10pm to 8am. We are not a destination for noisy groups or parties.
Please contact us with any questions, as we’d love to have you come and relax with us!
Our Camp Hosts patrol our property starting at 10pm to help with enforcement and reserve the right to ask guests to extinguish fires and move inside if deemed necessary. We want each guest to enjoy their stay.
Guests wanting more security for their reservation should select the Travel Protection option during online checkout (see covered reasons for canceling), or purchase trip insurance with broader ‘cancel for any reason’ coverage from companies such as Squaremouth.

Glamping was made for families. Here's how we make it easy to bring the little ones:
LODGING
Note: Make sure you enter the number of children at the start of the booking process.
ACTIVITIES
Doggies need fresh air too! Up to 2 well-behaved, quiet, on-leash dogs are allowed with a $30 fee (per pet, per night).
Please view the full Dog Policy in the Policies section below, including requirements for leashes at all times and never leaving your dog unattended. Remember that dogs are not allowed on most trails inside the national park.
Then, add your dog(s) on the first screen of online booking, where number of adults is entered.
Sorry, cats are not allowed.
Bring: We'd recommend packing slippers and PJs for lounging, warm layers when nights get cool, ear plugs for lighter sleepers (although we provide for each tent), a flashlight/lantern (or a phone app) for nighttime strolls, sandals (for tent guests walking to the bathroom), and a cooler for drinks (we have ice). Tent guests should bring dining items, paper towels and foil, and cookware for the communal BBQs or a personal gas stove to use outside their tent. Cabin guests should bring any desired outdoor cookware (e.g., cast iron skillet, tongs) to supplement the indoor-only kitchen cookware we provide.
Leave: Kindly do not arrive with your own tents/RV/trailer (we cannot fit them), full-size BBQs (portable gas stoves are fine), air mattresses or cots, rice cookers, amplified sound devices, drones, noisy motorized toys or vehicles (e.g., small dirt bikes and scooters), or any noisy equipment that will disturb the enjoyment of other guests. CPAP machines are supported. Please, please leave your portable speakers and musical instruments at home and enjoy the sounds of nature—it’s not fair to require other guests to listen to your music. Do not bring firewood. When wood-burning is allowed for cabin guests (Nov. thru May), guests are required to use a safer, low-spark firewood called Goodwood, which can be purchased from us in our store, when booking, or by contacting us before arrival. It can also be sold after hours until 10pm from our camp host for late arrivals.
Our location can experience very hot summer days. High temps can exceed 100F (38 C) with warm evenings. Every cabin has an AC but tents do not and can get hot in the midday hours, despite the large doors/windows and fan. We recommend visiting the nearby Merced River swimming holes in the Briceburg area, or jumping in Lake McClure or Bass Lake. The national park also tends to be almost 10 degrees cooler.
Tents: Every queen bed comes with a dual-zone heated mattress pad--a popular guest amenity. When combined with our comforters, blankets, and space heaters, they keep our guests comfortable on chilly nights.
Cabins: Every cabin is equipped with a heater to supplement the warm comforters on the queen and futon beds.
For 2025 season, most likely no. This will allow more people to visit, but might also lead to more traffic and crowds. We encourage all guests to avoid peak times: weekends and June 15-August 15. If your schedule does not allow, please consider taking the shuttle into the park (yarts.com) or using our friends at Wildland Trekking to oragnize a private guided tour.
Sure! View our property map and answers to common questions about distances, our trails, and requesting specific tents.
We do! They vary by season, day of week, and number of nights, but you can find the latest ones on our Discounts & Specials page. We also run 24-hour online flash sales with even deeper discounts if you follow us on Instagram.
At Wildhaven: At just 2,300 feet elevation, we only get 2-3 very small snowfalls each season that melt in a few days, mostly from December to March. Vehicles can reach our property and Mariposa without any need for chains/cables or 4x4.
At The National Park: The Valley Floor is at 4,000 feet elevation. The park *can* require vehicles to carry chains/cables during winter conditions (November-March), even if you have a 4x4, and will refuse entrance if you don't. You can check for the most up-to-date road information by calling (209) 372-0200. Purchase chains/cables at Mariposa's Ace Hardware.
Check-in is between 3pm and 7pm, and check-out is 11am. Please add a note to your reservation if you will be arriving after 7pm, or update us if you are running late--it's no problem. We will text you after-hours arrival info to find your tent or cabin and we have a camp host available until 10:30p if assistance is needed.
Early Check-in & Late Check-out (1pm) might be available by contacting us as early as possible.

We are located in a high-risk fire area and we require your help to keep everyone as safe as possible. Wildhaven fire rules:
Wildhaven Yosemite is a completely non-smoking property due to our high fire risk. Guests who smoke in cabins, tents, or on tent platforms will be automatically charged a minimum $300 cleaning fee to properly remove, clean, and replace all furnishings and tent materials (especially our high-grade mold-resistant canvas) and will be prevented from booking a future stay. Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, cannabis, and e-cigarettes.

DINING OUT
Mariposa is just 1 mile away and offers many tasty and unique options for indoor and outdoor dining. No restaurants deliver to Wildhaven.
Many of our tents and cabins are 20-30 feet apart. You will likely hear noises from other guests during your stay. We use on-site staff and a 24/7 phone number for guests to help enforce our 10p-8a quiet hours, but occasionally you might hear a disruptive guest before we can quiet them down.
Additionally, Wildhaven Yosemite is located just off a popular road into the national park. You will likely hear some road noise during the day and even night (depending on how light you sleep). This is especially true in our Standard tents which are in the lowest part of our property, closest to the road.
Our goal is to provide a restful stay, so we supply ear plugs and fans in each tent to help our lighter-sleeping guests. For maximum sound insulation, we recommend booking one of our hard-sided cabins.
WiFi: We provide complimentary service to all guests. It’s not strong enough for streaming or Zoom calls, but enough to check in with loved ones or share a pic online. It is strongest closest to our reception building.
Mobile: Cell coverage is strongest with Verizon.
We have seen deer, turkeys, owls, bats, and even an occasional snake and bald eagle. Please be aware that you will be sharing a natural environment with these animals, along with other insects and natural residents.
